The quarterly GLPA Newsletter is published by the Great Lakes Planetarium Association to provide timely and newsworthy items about the planetarium profession, education, personnel, and supporting fields. Journal quality articles should be directed to International Planetarium Society (The Planetarian) or presented at a GLPA Conference, and therefore published in the conference proceedings.
The GLPA Newsletter generally includes a President's Message, an
Editor's Message, a State News section, a Bulletin Board
section (containing short news items), original articles from
contributing members, conference and state meeting information, activities of
the GLPA Executive Committee, and other information related to GLPA and/or the
planetarium profession. The GLPA Newsletter is generally between 12 and
24 pages in length.
The GLPA Newsletter is mailed on the equinoxes and solstices to every
member in good standing. With few exceptions, the GLPA Newsletter has been published four times a year since 1966. Archived copies are available from the Instructional Materials Chairperson.

The following GLPA Newsletter advertising rates reflect the pricing differences between purchasing an individual advertisement (versus a one-year purchase) and whether the advertiser is a GLPA regular member, patron member, or sustaining member. Payment must accompany any advertisement order, made payable to the Great Lakes Planetarium Association. Advertisements must be camera-ready and may be either color or black & white. Color ads will appear full color in the digital (PDF) version of the newsletter, but will be rendered black & white in the printed version. Full page ads may be sent as either a full page PDF file or as a suitably proportioned graphic image (jpg preferred). Smaller sized ads must be sent as a suitably proportioned graphic image (jpg preferred) so that the Newsletter Editor can fit it onto a page with other ads or newsletter articles. GLPA reserves the right to refuse advertisements. GLPA's liability is limited to the cost of the advertisement. Deadlines for all submissions to the GLPA Newsletter are as follows:
